Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This notice explains how Bournemouth Computer Solutions handles personal information when you use this website, contact us or arrange our services.

Who is responsible for your information?

Robert Watts, trading as Bournemouth Computer Solutions, is responsible for the personal information described in this notice.

For privacy questions or requests, email support@bournemouthcomputersolutions.co.uk or call 01202 859950.

Information we receive

When you contact us, we receive the details you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, area and description of the help you need. If you arrange a home visit, we also need your visit address and relevant booking information.

The website enquiry form requires your name, email address and message. Your telephone number is optional. Without suitable contact details, we may be unable to reply or arrange help.

The website and its security services also process technical information, such as IP addresses, browser information and access or error records, to deliver and protect the site.

Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, banking information or verification codes through the enquiry form.

How and why we use your information

  • Enquiries and bookings: to respond, discuss your requirements, provide a quotation and arrange requested work. Where you ask us to take steps towards a service agreement, or to carry one out, our lawful basis is contract.
  • Other correspondence and website security: our legitimate interests in answering relevant questions, running the business and protecting the website against spam, misuse and technical faults. We consider these interests alongside your rights.
  • Required business records: where applicable, to meet legal obligations relating to accounting, tax or other statutory requirements.

Who receives information?

Our website-hosting and business-email providers process information needed to operate the site and deliver correspondence. The website is hosted by Fasthosts. Our form uses Contact Form 7 and Cloudflare Turnstile for submission handling and spam protection.

Cloudflare Turnstile checks technical signals, including IP address and browser-related information, to distinguish people from automated traffic. Cloudflare also uses these signals to improve its bot detection. You can read its Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

If an enquiry leads to paid work, necessary information may also be processed by the accounting or payment services used for that work. Information may be disclosed to authorities or professional advisers where necessary to meet a legal obligation or handle a legal claim.

International processing

Some service providers, including Cloudflare, operate internationally and may process information outside the UK. Cloudflare describes its reliance on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, contractual safeguards in its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum. Contact us if you would like further information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

How long we keep information

We do not keep old enquiry emails as an ongoing archive. We delete enquiry emails when they are no longer needed to deal with the enquiry or any necessary follow-up.

If you become a customer, relevant booking, service and invoicing records are separate from old enquiry emails. Where these records are needed, their retention depends on providing the service, resolving outstanding issues and meeting applicable accounting, tax or other legal requirements.

Technical and security records are retained according to the operational and security needs of the relevant service. Deleting an enquiry email does not necessarily remove separate provider logs or backup copies immediately.

Website features and external links

WordPress and security services may use cookies or similar browser technologies for site functionality and protection. Browser settings can control cookies, although blocking necessary features may affect parts of the site or enquiry form.

If you follow a link to Checkatrade, use WhatsApp or visit another external service, that service handles information under its own privacy arrangements. Its privacy information should be checked before you use it.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access your personal information, correct inaccurate information, erase information, restrict its use or receive qualifying information in a portable format. These rights have conditions and do not always require us to delete records that must be retained by law.

Your right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us using the details above and explain your circumstances so we can consider your request.

If we ever rely on your consent for a particular use, you can withdraw that consent by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Concerns and complaints

Please contact us first if you have a concern about your information. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/ for information.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice if our services or information-handling arrangements change. The date above shows when it was last updated.
